Technologist

Department: Production
Reports to Production Manager

General purpose
Technologist will implement and control the processing of the fruits & vegetables.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Applies scientific and engineering principles in production technology, quality control, packaging, processing, and utilization of the product;
• Conducts basic research, and new product research and development of the product.
• Develops new and improved methods and systems for food processing, production, quality control and packaging.
• Studies methods to improve quality of foods, such as flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of foods.
• Develops food standards, safety and sanitary regulations, and waste management and water supply specifications.

• Researching current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts and modifying existing products and processes and developing new ones;
• Checking and improving quality control procedures from the raw material stage through to the finished product;
• Participates in preparing product costing based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products;
• Developing the ability to repeat processes to ensure consistency and safety;
• Liaising and cooperating with technical and commercial colleagues in procurement, sales and technical services, marketing and distribution, and also with official food inspection.

Education & skills
• Specialized college or university education or certification in Food Processing Technology is required
• Related work experience in Fruits & Vegetables processing is preferred
• Good knowledge of Azeri and Russian languages, knowledge of English is preferred
• Basic computer knowledge
