Position: Translator
Work Location: Baku Office
                                                
Education:              Graduated in the relevant field
Work Experience:     2 years’ or more experience in a similar role within Oil and Gas Industry

Knowledge of Languages:

English (professional/advanced),
Russian (professional/advanced),
Azerbaijani (professional/advanced)

Responsibilities: 
Facilitate internal and external communications by providing translations of written texts
Ensure that the translated documents meet deadlines and are consistent with the linguistic rules and terminology of the target language and with the cultural and operational background of the final readers
Ensure that the activities performed are in line with Company procedures and budgets Tasks
Transfer the meaning in the source language into a target language in order to produce a text that is in accordance with the rules of the linguistic system of the target language and that meets the instructions received upon project assignment
Assess the suitability and accuracy of the translation in terms of content, terminology, style and linguistic register (with due regard for document type and purpose), comparing the source and target texts and making any necessary corrections
Manage the workflow of documents to be translated or that have already been translated for the assigned project based on the instructions received
Interface with specialists in order to obtain and validate terminology or resolve any semantic and conceptual doubts regarding the source text
Maintain contacts with all people involved in the translation process
Archive documentation and manage deliveries
Contribute to the updating of Saipem terminological database by:
- interacting with specialists
- identifying technical documents, in conjunction with in-house contacts, from which to collect any suitable terms
- constructing a concept tree of technical terms and providing a graphic representation of the relations between them
- ensuring the accuracy of technical terms in the different languages
- uploading technical terms into the database
Contribute to the updating of CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools in order to increase Saipem efficiency in its relations with clients and stakeholders and maximise the Company competitive advantage in bid phase
To this end, ensure that translated and proofread documents are saved into the TM (Translation Memory) so as to facilitate the retrieval of terms, paragraphs or even entire documents
