Automotive Mechanic-Electronic Technician

Job Purpose: Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Duties:
• Maintain & repair electrical and electronic of plant and equipment;
• Assemble machines and plant in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications to ensure their safe operation;
• Troubleshoot malfunctions;
• Locate sources of problems by observing devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments;
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices and hand / power tools, examining form and texture of parts;
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments;
• Ensure all maintenance operations are carried out in accordance with quality specifications;
• Assist other Maintenance Technicians in carrying out their tasks as and when required;
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on;
• Carry out inspection and testing of plant and equipment based on work orders;
• Carry out corrective maintenance of plant and equipment based on work orders;
• Ensure all work orders are completed and returned to the Service Manager;
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained associated with completion of work orders;
• Understand and comply with the diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications;
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies’ inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; forecast required equipment, parts and supplies; place and expedite orders and verify receipts;
• Provide required maintenance information by answering questions and requests;
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications;
• Document and communicate actions and irregularities;
• Respond courteously and effectively to all reasonable customer demands;
• Demonstrate ability to work as a team in achieving all operational and maintenance requirements;
• Ensure that all activity is performed in accordance with relevant company guidelines, procedures, rules and statutory regulations;
• Maintain safe and clean working environment;  understand potential significant environmental impacts on the operation;
• Reduce health & safety risks and initiate improvements related to environmental, social, and security issues;
• Attend team brief/safety meetings as required;
• Follow  the waste management process;
• Participate in the Accident / Near Miss Investigation processes;
• Train new team members;
• Carry out special projects as assigned;
• Other reasonable tasks as required by Management.

Skills/Qualifications:
• Electrical engineering or trade certification or equivalent relevant experience working in a maintenance department supporting production and/or manufacturing and/ors material handling;
• Proven competency in servicing, repair and installation of plant, equipment, vehicles and material handling equipment;
• A minimum of 3-5 years related experience in industry;
• Knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems and experience in using a variety of electronic tools;
• Ability to communicate and work as a team;
• Intermediate to advanced English reading, writing and language skills;
• Thorough understanding of HSE requirements & behavior.
