Role: Senior Field Service Engineer

Business Need / Purpose of Role:

To provide practical and technical supervision on pumps, compressors and turbines at Customer Sites, both onshore and offshore, and within the Service Centre as the job dictates.

The role will entail overseas travel depending on workload and projects

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

Objectives:

• Perform or Supervise Site and Workshop overhauls of turbomachinery, specifically pumps, compressors and turbines
• Where appropriate, supervision of Weir, Customer and/or Subcontract labour
• Assurance and adherence to all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures as specified by both Weir and the Client
• Maintenance of equipment integrity at all times
• Completion of Contract reports in accordance with the specified format and timeliness procedures
• Completion of all timesheets and expenses in accordance with procedures and Terms & Conditions in a timely and efficient manner
• Liaise with Operations and Engineering on parts requirements and Engineering input

Measurements:

• Successful completion of projects together with all reports and documentation as specified within project scopes

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Technical degree with Apprenticeship served in similar field. Engineering University degree is a plus. Minimum 5 years of supervision and project management experience.

Product Knowledge:

Minimum 10 years hands-on mechanical installation, overhaul and refurbishment experience of pumps, compressors and turbines. Familiarity with Control Systems is a plus.

Communication Skills:

Excellent spoken and written English required in addition to native language. Russian knowledge is a plus. Excellent report writing skills and able to compile comprehensive technical reports. Ability to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds to drive successful business

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to negotiate resolutions to difficult problems. Willingness to think “outside the box” to achieve optimised solutions.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Excel and Word.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in industrial areas. Offshore certification required.

Work Environment:

Hazardous site conditions, international travel

EHS Responsibilities

All employees/operatives will:

1. Ensure the implementation of the Company EHS Policy for the prevention of injury, damage or loss to Company personnel and resources.
2. Adhere to the risk assessment controls identified.
3. Not interfere or misuse any equipment supplied.
4. Maintain equipment supplied for carrying out work tasks including daily maintenance where appropriate.
5. Use personal protective equipment supplied in accordance with site risk assessments and site rules.
6. Attend any suitable training to ensure that they are competent to perform their duties safely.
7. Comply with any rules specific to a particular site and any Company wide health, safety or environmental requirements.
8. Report any injuries, unsafe acts or conditions to line managers.
9. Support EHS policy to help deliver cultural development and sustained continual improvement in EHS performance.
