Intermediate IT Tech
 
Basic Functions

To Provide Direct Support to Users of Computing Equipment.  Areas of responsibility include end user trouble management, end user computing asset management, end user desk side assistance, end user computing equipment configuration and installation, end user computing equipment repair, and end user satisfaction with IT Services.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and resolves hardware & software issues
• Adheres to and enforces Help Services Procedures.
• Interfaces with hardware, software, and facility vendors to ensure the timely and quality delivery of preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Escalates complex issues to the system administrators
• Tracks all end user computing equipment from receipt through disposal.
• Designs, develops and maintains consistent end user computing software images, in conjunction with and with assistance from Technical Services.
• Installs hardware and software.
• Responds to assigned trouble tickets.
• Participates in End User Computing projects, and participates in Development and Technical Services projects as requested.
• Monitors end user satisfaction with IT Services in general and implements corrective action as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• A minimum of 18 months - 2 years experience in a large helpdesk or service desk environment
• Prior experience in providing  IT support across a Microsoft operating environment, supporting desktop and server hardware, as well as Microsoft Office suite and various other applications
• solid team focus and collaborative skills
• Thorough knowledge and skills related to Microsoft Office, Windows XP & Windows 7 installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
