Job Purpose

To assist Finance Manager in accounting, auditing and local compliances including tax, statutory reporting & working capital Management.

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance

Direct Reporting Line Regional Finance Manager

Key Accountabilities

- Ensure proper GL Accounting and month end closing entries and complies with relevant IFRS standards.
- Review and check all documents submitted for prepayment, ensure proper accounting and follow up for final invoices and allocation of prepayments
- Review and reconcile RNV account
- Ensure proper expense accruals and provisions in the books
- Ensure proper Fixed Asset accounting
- Support Turkmenistan team with their day-to-day accounting and month closure. Reconciliations and coding. Constant communication to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Act as a back-up for AR accountant when needed
- Support Finance Controller with month closure activities
- Complete vessel-wise GL reviews and variance analysis. Action any adjustments during closing
- Take the lead during internal and external audits for standalone and consolidated financials
- To prepare ad hoc reports as and when required by the Finance Controller and/or Finance Manager.
- Monthly returns and analysis to head office
- Verify and authorize batches/invoices/Journals created by members of the finance team and ensure accuracy of coding
NSE checking error reports and fixing via IT in Dubai or via communication with procurement and operations

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified Chartered Accountant, CPA or ACCA qualified with knowledge on IFRS

Minimum Experience:

- Minimum 5-7 years’ relevant industry experience in an international company of which at least 3 years should be as Chief Accountant.
- Exposure to Azerbaijan tax system is must. Exposure to taxes of other Caspian countries is preferred.

Job-Specific Skills:

- Expert knowledge on Excel. Knowledge of JDE is preferred.
