Chief Operations Officer Drilling

ROLE OVERVIEW:

A leading Oil & Gas company, located in in Baku, Azerbaijan is looking for an exceptional COO Drilling.

The role will be a Senior Leadership appointment reporting directly to the CEO of the company. A successful incumbent will be responsible for leading Well Planning, Design and Engineering, Well Operations, Rig Operations and Well Support teams and executing the drilling operation in a safe, compliant, timely & efficient manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overall accountability for Well Delivery and Rig Management
• Manage the planning and execution of all drilling and well services projects
• Oversee daily drilling and well engineering operations for an organization.
• Ensure that all operations personnel complete their assigned work in accordance with standard Well Delivery operating procedures
• Drive QHSE culture and standards throughout the operations and ensure that compliance is strongly monitored and risks mitigated.
• Resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments, remove barriers to exemplary performance
• Maintain a close working relationship with customers to ensure their job specific needs are fulfilled

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

Education:

- University Degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering
- IWCF certified or equivalent.

Experience:

• 15 years of experience in Drilling Operations of which 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Mastery in HSE Management, Well Control, Drilling Operation, Emergency Response, and Risk Management (incl. Risk assessment and Management of Change).
• Extensive Tendering, Contracting, and Contract Management Experience.

Skills:

• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with the ability to challenge and motivate staff to deliver against challenging operational timelines.
• Ability to negotiate and resolve disputes based on systematic and logical thinking with rigorous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
