Vice-President Commercial and Business Development
ROLE OVERVIEW:
A leading Oil & Gas company, located in in Baku, Azerbaijan is looking for an exceptional VP Commercial & Business Development.
The role will be a Senior Leadership appointment reporting directly to the CEO of the company. A successful incumbent will be responsible for the commercial success of the organization through a combination of strong business development and technical commercial & selling skills. The individual will bring a proven track record and reputation in the Oil & Gas industry enabling them to build and maintain important client relationships.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and execute commercialization strategy of the business to fulfil strategic growth objectives of the company
• Direct the commercial activities of the business including pricing reviews, contract reviews, response to tenders, and client negotiations
• Monitor and improve commercial performance using key metrics and cultivate understanding of key commercial metrics among senior leadership
• Develop and maintain corporate relationships with key strategic clients/accounts
• Take a global perspective on market opportunities, and lead their assessment and prioritization
• Work collaboratively across multiple functions to manage all business development transactions from initial engagement, analysis and valuation, through due diligence efforts & contract closure
• Collaborate with senior leadership team to align priorities and achieve overall business targets
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
Education:
• University degree in Engineering, Science, or Business Administration
Experience:
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in Commercial/Business Development, with at least 5 years of leadership experience in the Oil & Gas Industry
• Established reputation with decision makers in the Oil & Gas industry
• Proven track record of closing significant deals and improving commercial performance
Skills:
• Ability to lead an aggressive business expansion in a dynamic market
• Exceptional negotiating skills along with financial acumen
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize multiple on-going projects
• A talent magnet with strong people leadership skills
