Sales Specialist

Job Description & Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, research, and secure new business opportunities utilizing prospecting skills and community / business networking to quote projects, increasing revenue and improving margins.
• Follow the sales cycle from beginning to end including initial contact; client needs analysis, development of proposals and presentation, and closing of the deal.
• Develop business strategy in concert with district business plans utilizing strategic planning processes that encompass company, market and industry trends in order to ensure consistent efforts to achieve goals.
• Identify and coordinate industry related trade shows to increase company awareness and prospect potential clients.
• Generate new customer accounts as well as service and maintain existing accounts. Analyze customer needs and interests and determine how company products and services can best meet their needs.
• Recommend and sell manufactured generator sets, accessories and related equipment utilizing knowledge of power generation equipment.
• Achieve sales goals and forecasts, as established by the department and the organization.
• Assist in marketing and sale of new products and/or prototypes to the existing marketplace.
• Review completed jobs for variations in component costing.
• Interface with other departments, including engineering, manufacturing, production, purchasing and accounting, to oversee project development and ensure timely delivery of finished products.
• Monitors sales orders to ensure project costs, materials lists and delivery schedules meet project specifications and deadlines.
• Compute installation or production costs, and prepare and submit bid specifications to existing and potential customers for review. Negotiate proposals and sales and service contracts with customers.
• Plan and organize sales strategy.
• Expedite the resolution of customer problems, issues or complaints.
• Attend sales and trade meetings and reads related publications to obtain current market condition information, business trends, and industry developments.
• Demonstrate and explain use of installed equipment and production processes.
• Provide management oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, market situation, competitive activities, and potential for new products/services.
• Conduct all business transactions in an ethical manner.

Job requirements:

• Ability to manage a sales territory, prospect and cultivate new accounts
• Good influencing skills
• Economically motivated
• 5-10 years’ heavy equipments sales experience preferred
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• PC Proficient (Including high proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office and other software)

QUALIFICATION:

• Minimum of at least 7 years of outside sales experience
• A proven track record of closing sales, obtaining new business and strong relationship maintenance
• Excellent customer follow-up, attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic knowledge of diesel and natural gas engine generators or good engine or electrical knowledge as well as the rental industry as a whole is a strong plus
• Must possess a strong sense of urgency and drive for success
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Salary will be determined based on interview and experience of the candidate.
