Dairy Process Operator (Milla Dairy Plant)

Responsibilities

The key activities/responsibilities for the role of Dairy Process Operator are as follows:

1. Receiving of fresh milk from a range of farms, including:
a. Sampling of the tanker and liaising with the Milla Technical team for release
b. Offloading of the tanker into silos and completion of automated/hand written documents
2. Pasteurizing and Standardizing of fresh milk, including
a. Operation of automated pasteurizer plant and standardization equipment
b. Adherence to the sampling plan and management of the plant/product specifications
c. Completion of plant and product documentation
3. Mixing plant operation, including:
a. Receiving, approving and loading of materials into the mixing plant
b. Control of the mixing process and adherence to the sampling plan
c. Management of plant/product specifications and transfer of the approved mix into the required destination tank.
4. Cleaning of plant items (Clean in Place & Environment) including:
a. Operation of the plant CIP stations to clean a range of raw and pasteurized plant
b. Arrangement of the circuit, CIP initiation and flow monitoring
c. Release of CIP, completion of documentation and handover to plant operators
d. Control of local area hygiene by the cleaning of both the plant equipment and built environment

Education / Experience Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

 Higher education diploma/degree in a technical area (food science or engineering)
 5 years operational experience within a FMCG environment
 2 years ‘plant operator’ experience within a dairy processing plant (within the last 3 years)
 Understanding of HACCP systems and ISO 9001 and 22000 requirements
 Verbal and written English language skills
