HVAC Design Engineer
Create and develop refrigeration and heating systems for commercial and residential properties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design HVAC Systems, create heating and cooling systems and their controls, Calculate Heating and Cooling needs and loads
• Interpret and draft plans, schematics, and blueprints for new construction projects
• Draft new plans to design ductwork and piping systems.
• Calculate Ventilation Requirements, and propose the types of systems needed, and design concepts
• Determine Budget Costs, costs for heating and cooling systems and write up detailed budget estimates.
• Coordinate with others, coordinate and collaborate with architects and engineers when designing heating and cooling systems.
• answer questions, present budget bids, and make recommendations about heating and cooling systems
• Review and check the detailed design prepared by the design subcontractor
• Prepare SoW and review technical offers for selection of HVAC Subcontractor.
• Manage the selected subcontractor & monitor their progress at site.
Key Requirements:
• BSc / MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in HVAC Systems.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience on construction projects
• Extensive and hands-on experience in of HVAC Systems
• Experience in heating and cooling equipment (pumps, fans, pipes, motors) experience
• High technical and analytical ability, high degree of mechanical aptitude and a talent for math who calculate and design heating and cooling systems for buildings of all sizes
• Conversant with Codes and Standards such as ASHRAE, ASME, API, NFPA, etc.
• Experience in preparation of project execution plans with detailed scope statement through structured WBS to the level of respective work packages
• Hands on experience in preparing subcontract packages including estimation for tenders.
• Multitasking , work on many different heating and cooling projects at once
• Ability to complete assigned tasks within triple constrains of scope, time and cost.
• Possessing excellent skill in communication and conflict management.
• Knowledgeable on Air/Water Cooled Chilled Water System
• AutoCAD or similar
