Job Title:    Valve technician

“GVL LLC” is the service company providing valve maintenance, valve facility management and valve stock management services in Azerbaijan and Georgia.

 Duties & Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to the following

- To carry out complete overhaul of different valves, actuators and gearboxes, unsupervised.
- To complete testing / recertification of different valves and actuators as per required specification, unsupervised
- Competent to strip, assess, overhaul, assemble and recertify all types of valves including PSV’s, Ball, Globe, Check, Butterfly, Gate, Control, Parallel slide and Plug valves. (Unsupervised)
- Competent to perform full testing (hydro and gas) as per the relevant standard test procedure, using company test equipment. (Unsupervised)
- Provide technical support and expertise to company clients and Grade 2 / 3 valve technicians.
- Able to compile strip down and overhaul reports for all valve types.
- Able to perform QA/QC reviews on all work carried out
- Able to witness and sign as witness authority for all valve pressure testing 
- To work unsupervised on/offshore and overseas at short notice.
- Use basic measuring machining capability.
- Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner, including appropriate Point of Work Risk Assessment, complete compliance with Quality Plan requirements, job routing.
- Prepare and check all detailed inspection reports, including making recommendations for repairs, upgrades and replacement parts requirements.
- Follows the company’s safety and environmental rules, policies and procedures.
- Health and safety in the workshop and sites
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain facilities in a safe condition.
- Report injuries, unsafe conditions, and incidents immediately.

Skills/Knowledge and Experience required on the job

- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience of working in a valve service and or valve manufacturing environment.
- Competent knowledge and understanding of all types of valves and actuator systems.
- Fully familiar with NBIC, BS, ANSI, API and ASME codes and their applications for all testing, measuring and applicable requirements.
- Demonstrate problem solving and analytical capability.
- Working environments is onshore based in workshop office environment.
- Working Schedule is 14/14.
