Engineer designer railways

• Design and implement track-based, both light and heavy rail transportation projects
• Analyze project requirements and prepare specifications
• Prepare drawings by utilizing Civil 3D and/or Inroads software
• Design and prepare layout of railway and rail transit projects
• Prepare quantity take-off’s and assist in preparation of Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Construction costs
• Coordinate project drawings with engineers, CAD staff and others
• Able to create documents using Microsoft Office products
• Prepare CAD base files from field survey data when required
• Interaction with clients, consultants and contractors

• Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
• Versatility, flexibility and willingness to work within frequently changing priorities.
• Must be willing and able to take initiative when needed.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Proficiency with MicroStation Inroads preferred
• Civil, Road or Rail CADD experience a bonus

Education and Experience

- A technical school diploma/certificate in a related field with minimum of 5-6 years experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Position will primarily work in an office setting.
- Schedule: Full-time
