Lead Instrumentation Engineer 
 
Purpose:

Lead Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible to provide engineering design review and verification capability to projects during detailed design engineering phase, to minimize/optimize, procurement and construction quality, safety, cost and schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge and ability to design of emergency shutdown system (ESD), process control system (PCS), process safety system (PSS), fire and gas mapping and detection, and SIL levels;
• Design and develop project scopes and documentation for Input/output list, instrumentation drawings, design documents and specifications;
• Working knowledge of ISA and IEC standards;
Ability to participate in HAZOPS and HAZIDS;
• Specify and develop datasheets for instrumentation such as HIPPS, ESDV, basic process instrumentation such as flow, temperature, and pressure;
• Experience with different instrumentation technologies such as sand and corrosion detection, multi-phase flow, strain gauges and angle monitoring;
• Generate schematics for instrumentation and junction boxes from a P&ID edit or review P&ID's if needed;
• Requires understanding of communications networking i.e. HART protocol, ControlNet, and Ethernet;
• Ability to design simple PLC based control panels and systems and programming utilizing Allen Bradley PLC's;
• Ability to develop an understand other project deliverables such as i/o list, and hazardous area registers;
• Develops and interprets electrical, control, and instrumentation drawings;
• Experience of working as part of a multi discipline team for facilities engineering projects;
• Drafting and reviewing cost estimates, input to budget submissions;
• Understand all technical drawings with the ability to read and write control software to modify control/protection schemes and strategies;
• Leads, participates and support Engineering team in the preparation of detailed engineering activities of new Projects;

Qualifications:

• Either a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (Electronic, Electrical, Instrument/Control preferred) with 10+ years of experience of instrument design in the Oil & Gas Industry is mandatory;
• Strong knowledge of ESD, PCS, PSS and Fire and Gas systems;
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD;
• Excellent spoken and written English language skills; able to communicate clearly and precisely with team members;
• Strong understanding of common international codes and standards;
• Strong understanding of design deliverables required for Detailed Design;

Job type: full-time

• Working hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30 am – 17:30pm, 5 working days a week.
