Technical Director (Oil and Gas Industry)
Purpose / Role
Currently we are looking for a design professional with an excellent design knowledge and experience of winning work, managing client relationships and delivering high quality design outputs for a Technical Director position to lead the growth of master planning and design within an established development planning, environmental and engineering team.
Responsibilities and duties:
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on all design engineering and of the Project;
• Ensure that the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality framework is incorporated in all aspects of the Project's development and implementation;
• Lead a team of design engineers and draughtsman in proper execution of engineering related activities in a EPC set-up.
• To provide detailed Engineering of multi-disciplinary mechanical equipments & structures.
• To involve in detailed design calculations, preparation of engineering data sheets & specifications, shop fabrication drawings and troubleshooting of design problems resulting from shop and field capabilities.
• To manage the design issues with the sub-contractors and ensure compliance with the client design.
• To create an engineering organization to handle projects from the intial concept stages, to the execution stages.
• Review technical documents from engineering and marine consultants and verify the technical design basis and the construction methods for the jetty, its topsides, the subsea pipelines, the gas receiving stations; all to ensure compliance with international standards and local government's requirements;
• Provide technical and engineering input required for the Project
• Coordinate the key engineering deliverables and timing needed to complete the design and engineering activities for the Project, and resolve any technical issues that arise in the course of Project development and implementation;
• Develop the EPC contracting strategy for the design, engineering, procurement and construction of the Project's facilities;
• Support the selection of the FEED Consultant and EPC Contractor(s) for the Project and thereafter support the management of the performance of their work;
Qualifications:
• Engineering Graduate with minimum 20 years’ experience in the engineering team and or engineering manager role in the oil and gas industry;
• Must have excellent design related skills in terms of interpreting designs and to help the design team produce working or production drawings effectively;
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Must be self-motivated and possess a high degree of analytical ability and confidentiality, and work in a safe, prudent and organized matter.
Job type: full-time
