Job Title:  Materials Movement Expeditor

Duties & Responsibilities 

Include, but are not limited to the following:
• Expedite the materials flows for the business and generate the daily status report for the company;
• Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking account of the perishable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time and security;
• Checking with appropriate Freight Forwarding (FF) packing, taking account of climate, terrain, weight, nature of goods and cost, and the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination;
• Support commercial team to negotiating contracts, transportation and handling costs with Freight Forwarding;
• Obtaining, checking and preparing documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries' regulations and fiscal regimes;
• Reviewing consolidation services by air, sea and road, ensuring cost-effective solutions;
• arranging air transport for urgent and high-value freight and managing the risk door to door;
• Acting as a focal point for customs issues and communications with customs.
• Dealing with special arrangements for transporting special cargoes, when needed
• Arranging courier and specialist hand-carry services;
• maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey, including the production of management reports and  cost analysis;
• Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight.
• Support finance team in arranging payment of freight and other charges or collection of payment; 

The candidate is expected to demonstrate the following traits during the execution of the scope:
 
• Self-motivated, assertive, and responds to branch metrics
• Excellent Knowledge of Freight Forwarding and logistcs regulatory requirements with at least 3-4 years in industry.
• Reads, analyzes and interprets international regulations and procedures (like incoterms etc.)
• Operations skills and experience in the trucking and freight forwarding industry
• Ability to negotiate rates in effort to route freight in the most cost effective manner
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
• Contributes to building a positive team spirit and puts success of team above own interests
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
