Role synopsis

Azerinteltek CJSC is now looking for an experienced professional for the role of the Contracts & Procurement Specialist to be responsible for the management and administration of Major Purchasing Contracts and Purchase Orders, but may on occasion support the management and administration of contracts with clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organization selects the most appropriate goods and services on the basis of price, quality, delivery times and services support. The successful candidate shall liaise with all relevant departments for all contracting and procurement activities related to vendors and sub-contractor suppliers.

Key accountabilities

• Maintain thorough records through the tendering process
• Work out the full cycle of purchase requests coming from departments, End Users, both supply and service
• Actively promote and champion the use of best practice to ensure compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures
• Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and clients
• Develop and maintain Contracts & Procurement strategy & policies
• Highlighting any major commercial risks or issues to Management and work with them to ensure the optimum solution
• Producing reports and statistics
• Prepare accurate and economic pricing of tenders with due regard to vendor positions and market forces
• Participation in audits as required
• Attending meetings and trade conferences

Essential criteria

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field of study (Business Administration, Economics or Finance)
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Contracts Engineering and/or Relevant experience in buying equipment and supplies, gained within the international business environment
• Advanced user in MS Office suite
• Proficiency in English and Azerbaijani languages: both verbal and written

Desirable criteria

• Working knowledge of SAP® MM module
• Degree or Management qualification in Supply Chain Management/Purchasing & Supply or working towards

Professional Qualifications (MCIPS)

• Degree in Commercial Law
• Exhibits good communication skills and can work effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
• Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills
• Experience and knowledge of inventory process
• Experience and knowledge in inbound and outbound logistics
