Baku Shipyard is looking for Safety Coordinator.

Key requirements

• A Bachelor degree in technical field with at least 3 years relevant working experience
• Working experience in marine/offshore industry is an added advantage
• Strong working knowledge of State Health & Safety Legislation and Guidance Documents
• Proven ability to implement and monitor health and safety initiatives
• Ability to communicate at all levels professionally and discreetly
• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to communicate and express information in written and oral form in Azeri and English
• Ability to work co-operatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially good in PowerPoint.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous monitoring of the work place and take action accordingly during operations to ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management System
• Liaise with Ship Safety Officer or his representative in the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment during the repair/project period
• Conduct firefighting and execute rescue operation during emergency. Render first aid treatment for minor injuries
• Identify potential hazards at the workplace and take appropriate actions to eliminate the hazards
• Assist HSE Officer in conducting regular gas monitoring of confined spaces and update status on the tank/confined space chart
• Conduct preliminary incident investigation and submit report to the HSE Officer
• Assist HSE team in promotional activities to cultivate safety awareness among the workforce
• Inspect physically, with the applicant of hot-work permit, the area of intended hot work, especially in compartments or pipelines, which contain or have contained explosive or flammable substances.  Accept or reject application and report to HSE Manager
• Ensuring that injury reporting / investigation procedures are implemented on site
• Advise and support operation team in terms of HSE initiatives and processes.
