Senior US GAAP Accountant

Responsibilities

• Performs and supervises month end close to ensure submission to corporate deadlines
• Performs and supervises month and quarter end reconciliation according to corporate deadlines and standards
• Manage general accounting activities for allocated entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel expenses, banking processes, deferred taxes
• Ensures accounting practices and tax calculations comply with US GAAP requirements
• Follows up a checklists for month and quarter end closing processes and deadlines
• Ensures monthly balance sheet reclassifications are performed to corporate criteria where applicable
• Understands key models and month end tasks, proactively seeking to improve and simplify where necessary
• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with customers and team
• Ensures all assigned reconciliations are prepared and reviewed accurately and submitted in line with corporate criteria and deadlines
• Supports with ad-hoc projects and other Management Controllership tasks as necessary
• Interacts and responds to auditor queries, internal and external as necessary
• Assists in quarterly balance sheet review and prepares variance analysis as necessary
• Supports controllership data requests, and auditing processes
• Participates in financial/tax related projects and initiatives of the company

Requirements

• Finance/Accounting degree or equivalent
• ACCA/CIMA qualification
• High Qualified Accountant specializing in US GAAP and preferably in IFRS.
• Min. 6 year experience in accounting and or 4 years in US GAAP accounting
• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Strong coaching and supervision skills
• Strong system skills (MS Office including Excel, Oracle, specific system(s) desirable)
• Proactive, ability to operate effectively with minimal guidance
• Ability to challenge processes and implement improved working methods and projects
• Ability to lead team
• Ability to look for solutions in complicated work situations
• Knowledge of local tax legislation at intermediate level
