Project Finance Manager – BP AGT

The Role
Worley Parsons are recruiting for a Project Finance Manager to manage the financial and commercial activities of the Project.
Reporting to Project Business Manager with a dotted line into the Corporate Finance Function and be based at the project office in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Specific Responsibilities
• Day to Day finance partner to the Project Director and Business Manager.
• Oversight of the planning, directing and coordinating of the Project Finance function (small team of 4-5) in Baku. Communicates regularly with Project Director and Project Controls staff to ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing and up-to-date project financial information
• Provides financial input regarding labour costs, project expenses, overheads and other projects costs, and advice regarding appropriate contractual commercial terms and conditions, including FX, tax and credit implications
• Direct the project invoicing function and ensure timely and accurate billings; Responsible for the financial management of all costs received from subcontractors ensuring they can be billed to the client in a timely manner.
• Steward ongoing cash forecasting; upholds strong, visible credit risk management, including Identification and management of financial and treasury risk
• Responsible for delivering consistent, accurate and timely management information (financial and statistical) to all key stakeholders for decision making purposes
• Responsible for the source ERP data for management reporting. Liaise closely with UK finance team to ensure regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and accurate reporting of transactional activities such as AP, AR, payroll are performed (the Azerbaijan project will be established as a branch of a UK trading entity).
• Responsible for the timely supply of financial information to the outsourced provider for taxation reporting in Azerbaijan to ensure compliance with local legislation.
• Responsible for Corporate monthly financial reporting and project rolling forecasting and budgeting.
• Ensures alignment of the project controls and finance functions.
• Team management of all Project finance staff, including establishing objectives/goals/training/recruit.
• Responsible for any ad hoc analysis. Designs financial models, scenarios and sensitivities for the project. Advises on the design and application of models
• Provide commercial support to the project and business on margin improvement, overhead reduction and cash flow maximization. Continue to monitor/assess the risk profile of project and recommend remedial action prior to commercial impact
• Work closely with the regional Tax Manager to ensure full compliance with all relevant tax laws. Responsible for the books and records of the project.
• Manage client audit requirement and other commercial or statutory audit requirements.
Skills & Attributes
The candidate must be a strategic thinker, have strong organizational and communication skills and have the ability to build and lead a strong team of professionals. The successful candidate will possess the following skills/attributes:
• Requires a self-starter with firm decision making skills and at least 8- 10 years significant financial experience.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Exceptional technical and analytical accounting skills, specifically in the areas or financial modelling, analysis and reporting
• Experience as a strategic business partner to operational teams across the business; has provided commercial support and analysis related to ongoing or potential business activities and contract negotiations
• Experience leading and supervising financial teams, proven management skills
• Engineering, consulting and construction project experience is an advantage
• Good understanding of relevant local legislation and internal and external compliance requirements and IFRS
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP knowledge.
