Position Summary:

Responsible for directing, documenting and performing maintenance and repair of OnSEIS source unit (Synchronized Electrical
Impulsive Source) and support equipment within Geokinetics field operations. 
Direct reporting to this position: Mechanics.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Directs and supervises Mechanics
- Performs troubleshooting and repairs of OnSEIS source unit and support equipment that are assigned to crew.
- Performs preventive maintenance on OnSEIS source and equipment in accordance to established maintenance practices and procedures.
- Ensure all monthly checks are performed, repairs and damages are recorded in database. This list is then forwarded to the office of that division to be filed and to keep database up-to-date.
- Maintains adequate inventory of parts to minimize production loss as a result of equipment breakdown.
- Have a good understanding of the cost of parts and repairs so maintenance cost will remain more on a constant when jobs are permitted
- Assist with training of equipment operators to ensure that they are adequately prepared in the safe and efficient operation of equipment to which they are assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Be an active participant in the crew HSEQ program and active in daily tail gate meetings.
- Responsible for all aspects of health, safety and environmental concerns in the particular work area. Demonstrate safe work practices.
- Request Technical, Safety and Quality Training if needed and attend the same as required by management.
- Required to assist as needed in any capacity on any department on the crew, at the discretion of the Party Manager, Project Manager.
- Define, create and enforce the procedures or work instructions to be followed during any specific prospect.

Education & Experience:

- Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
- Requires minimum of 5 years of related mechanical experience in the industry. Mechanical back ground in Heavy Duty Equipment (6X6) and 4X4 trucks. North American or European standard First Class ticket, OR Courses towards acquiring same
- Must complete all necessary training required by QHSE.
- Requires a regular, valid driver’s license.
- Geokinetics ONSEIS Training
- Good communication (verbal and written).
- Experience in seismic Land, TZ and OBN projects

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

- Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Basic welding theory and practice.
- Mastered mechanical theory and practice. Good knowledge in Mechanics (mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems), Electronics and radio communication

- Must abide by and enforce all Geokinetics Policies including but not limited to HSE, Drug & Alcohol, Operational Policies, IAGC, OGP, Client, and Local & State Governmental Policies.
- Know and implement the policies of GEOKINETICS on quality, production, safety, protection to environment and costs and verify its fulfillment.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions & Hazards:

- Stand, walk and climb.
- Use of hands to grasp, handle and lift.
- Ability to lift and carry 100 lbs.
- Ability to reach, stoop and bend.
- Working environment may be in normal office conditions or outdoor in all climate and terrain conditions (Weather, high winds)
- Work is extended periods of time in remote locations.
- Exposure to hazards such as, noise, fumes, suspended loads, pinch points.
