Position Summary:
This job will be responsible for managing the positioning requirements on the crew at all levels including planning, equipment, logistics, setout/layout, processing and personnel. The position requires leadership and a high commitment to QHSE processes.
Positions reporting to this position: Surveyors, Survey helpers and Survey Teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be involved in scouting the project areas prior to bid submittals if possible and required. Recommend procedures, production goals, identify HSE issues, etc.
- Perform and lead job start-ups including organizing transportation, network adjustments and navigation hardware installation
- Understand client specifications and requirements to organize and perform an accurate calibration and maintenance of all survey and navigation (hardware) equipment and instruct others on these methods.
- Define and assign daily work to the Survey department to ensure efficient logistics during project execution is achieved.
- Ensure all survey instruments and equipment are calibrated, adjusted and configured to meet the required project specifications and best industry standards.
- Responsible for tracking, maintenance and inventory of survey equipment and manuals on the crew.
- Liaise with the Survey Supervisor on new hardware/software needs and purchases.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure field operations are fully integrated and efficient.
- Interact with Geokinetics crew management and clients to provide deliverables as required.
- Responsible for Survey department personnel assessment. Provide recommendations for internal and external training of personnel. Train personnel on the crew.
- Maintenance and proper use of Geokinetics assets assigned to the Survey department. Establish programs of preventive maintenance and document the program.
- Advise on ways to improve QHSE, field processes, acquisition efficiency and data quality.
- Demonstrate full commitments to QHSE, lead by example, abide and enforce policies, and carry out all activities required for the successful implementation of the QHSE Management System.

Education & Experience:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geomatics, Surveying or other relevant area or equivalent job experience.
- Requires 5+ years’ experience in Survey Management.
- Requires 5+ years’ progressive work experience in Seismic operations.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

Key Software and equipment to master :
- Extensive experience with configuration and operation of seismic survey equipment (GPS, Total Stations, Inertial Systems)
- Extensive experience with configuration and operation of seismic navigation equipment (Gator and/or Triggerfish, GPS, acoustic ranging systems, marine sensors)
- Experience in land based systems processing (GPS, Total Stations, Inertial systems).
- Trimble Geomatics Office software
- Experience in marine based systems processing (Gator and/or Triggerfish, Acoustics, bathymetry).
- Experience with GPSeismic processing software.
- Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS –ESRI)
QHSE Competencies:
- Competencies for the role are referenced in the Integrated QHSE Management System Training Frame Guidelines. For this role, the competencies that are required include Level B.
- Must abide by and enforce all Geokinetics Policies including but not limited to HSE, Drug & Alcohol, Operational Policies, IAGC, OGP, Client, Local & State Governmental Policies.
- Know and implement the policies of GEOKINETICS on quality, production, safety, protection to environment and costs and verify its fulfillment.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions & Hazards:
- Satisfactorily complete the medical examination (UKOA or similar)
- Stand, walk and sit
- Use of hands to grasp, handle and lift.
- Seismic work is highly risky. Working environment may be in normal office conditions or open areas exposed to weather. Seismic work is conducted in a variety of environments, including swamps, snow, steep mountains, jungles, and deserts. It employs explosives, boats, helicopters and other vehicles.
- The QHSE manager reviews that each crew and project has the specific hazard register for the work conducted. Use PPE accordingly.
- Outdoor conditions on open sea (weather, sea conditions, high winds)
- Exposure to hazards such as high pressure air, loud noise, fumes, suspended load, pinch points.
