Position Summary:

This job will be responsible for the creating of SegDs for QC by gathering and merging the RAW Data with source timestamps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist in the plans to provide the required information, training, instruction or supervision that is necessary to protect all persons from foreseeable risks to their health and safety arising from the work.
- Read, understand and comply with the standards, duties and requirements outlined in the Project Execution Plan (PMP) and Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
- Commit to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPI), as well as other HSE goals and obligations.
- Ensure that all field equipment and front end equipment is kept in good working order and that any damages/ faults are reported and fixed in a timely fashion.
- Ensure that an accurate inventory of all field equipment, front end equipment and ancillary equipment is kept and is up to date. 
- Ensure that all front end equipment has the latest software revisions and firmware loaded.
- Ensure front end equipment is setup with the correct recording parameters as per clients specifications.
- Ensure that job startups and pre-charging is completed efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct training with any crew that are new or unfamiliar with the system.
- Conduct training with HHT and YUMA crew to advise on best practices in order to get the most accurate data.
- Provide assistance to line crew over the radio to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Advise other departments on technical limitations or requirements of the system.
- Supervise and help plan daily recording crew operations, in particular layout and spread QC.
- Load HHT units with the latest information prior to being sent out for layout (usually in the morning)
- Ensure YUMA units have the correct limits file loaded, and are in good working order prior to being sent out for use.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of HHT/ YUMA use throughout the project.
- Perform required preventative maintenance tasks (Daily, weekly, monthly) on the HCR units to prevent connection issues.
- Identify and repair node docking stations if possible (broken pins, holders etc).
- Collect and synch HHT information with the harvest management system every day.
- Collect and analyze Yuma information every day.
- Safely operate company vehicles and mobile plant, complete all necessary checklists and keep company vehicles clean at all times.
- Report any property/plant/equipment damage, injuries, and incidents immediately to your Supervisor.
- Read, understand and comply with all procedures outlined for the position in the HSE Work Procedures Directory and Sign Off.
- Obtain the skills, knowledge and awareness goals outlined for the position in the HSE Training Needs Analysis Matrix.
- Wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment as stated in procedures for specific tasks.
- Plan and conduct all work activities utilizing risk management principles.
- Report all identified hazards and where possible immediately put mitigation measures in place to reduce risks associated with the hazard.
- Exercise the right/obligation to stop unsafe acts, conditions, and work as the need arises. Demonstrate a commitment to the successful implementation of the Geokinetics Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure all required reports are completed correctly and concisely.
- Suggest improvements and engage in the consultative process.
- Operate in a professional manner and maintain effective and cordial relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and the general public.
- Follow all Controlled Operating Procedures (COPS) related to the position.
- Report all Quality Non-Conformities and where possible apply mitigation measures to prevent further non-compliance.
- Produce daily Progress/QC reports showing layout/ pickup and source progress, plus instrument test QC results for nodes tested that day.
- Check recorder and source AUX nodes daily, and output results as receiver gather.
- QC AUX node results daily and advise observer/ QC on any issues.
- Process vibroseis wirelines as required (usually weekly).
- Harvest nodes as they are picked up and rotated through the HCR trailer.
- Identify and record any faulty nodes that cannot be sent back into the field.
- Keep and maintain accurate records of all nodes reaped and the status they were sent back into the field at.
- Produce back-up receiver gathers on fully harvested lines as they become available.
- Maintain a system tracking daily production in order to produce shot gathers as soon as required receivers are harvested.
- Maintain accurate records of all data produced (Output logs, FFID tracking, dates, SPS version used etc)
- Transcribe data (if required) through Seisnet, using flows for correlating and SPS QC.
- Monitor and regularly check output data for irregularities and anomalies such as geometry errors, missing traces etc.
- Use Fairfield admin utilities to monitor raw data storage.
- Manage all data in an organized fashion.

Education & Experience:

- College degree in Electronics plus two years of Seismic Land / TZ / OBN experience as an instrument tech or field observer, or High School diploma plus five years of Land / TZ / OBN experience as an instrument tech or field observer.
- Attended Fairfield training with certificates. 
- Ability to pass the Geokinetics competency assessment for Fairfield operations. 
- Must complete all necessary training required by QHSE.
- Experience with continues Recording and Simultaneous Source acquisition
- Experience in Land, TZ, OBC and OBN projects

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good communication (verbal and written).
- Good English both verbal and written.
- Excellent verbal, written and radio communication
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated leadership ability and strong skills in seismic field operations management

- Strong technical aptitude
o Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
o Good knowledge and prior experience with seismic acquisition recording systems
o Be proficient at reading and following maps
o Strong aptitude in organizing and executing logistics of personnel and equipment

Key Software and equipment to master :

- Knowledge of Geospace / ZLAND / Sercel UNITE nodal system
- RFID reader.

QHSE Competencies:

- Adhere to and implement all Geokinetics policies, plans, and procedures and lead by example. Responsible for assisting with the effective implementation of the Geokinetics QHSE Management System (HSE-MS) program by motivating departmental personnel and being actively involved in inductions, meetings, game plans, training, assessments, drills, audits and investigations.
- Ensure that client HSE requirements are known and met, as directed by the Project Manager.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions & Hazards:

- Satisfactorily complete the medical examination (UKOA or similar)
- Stand, walk and sit
- Use of hands to grasp, handle and lift.
- Seismic work is highly risky. Working environment may be in normal office conditions or open areas exposed to weather. Seismic work is conducted in a variety of environments, including swamps, snow, steep mountains, jungles, and deserts. It employs explosives, boats, helicopters and other vehicles.
- The QHSE manager reviews that each crew and project has the specific hazard register for the work conducted. Use PPE accordingly.
