Position Summary:

The Fleet Manager (FM) provides assurance to the Project Manager of the marine transport operations compliance to the contract requirements. The FM is also the subject matter expert (SME) on the project team for the marine matters, and as such is an advisor to the Project Manager. He also coordinate offshore vessel/personnel movements and distribute critical environmental information throughout the operational field as per the fleet management plan.

Direct reporting to this position: Radio operators / Fleet Assistant    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Organize and control all aspects of the day to day marine transport operation of the project.
- Maintain live database of all personnel movements in the field.
- Collate POB lists daily for all vessels in the field and supply that information to the relevant onshore parties (client, marine control, logistics, etc.)
- Collate and monitor bunker information from all vessels under the fleet management plan and coordinate bunker operations when required.
- Monitor and collate relevant weather information, both forecast and current, and distribute throughout the field twice daily or when weather warnings are broadcast.
- Provide a RADAR/AIS watch over the prospect and warn off by means of VHF any 3rd party vessels entering the area.
- Efficiently coordinate point operations in the field to have minimal impact on operations and personnel. 
- Coordinate chase boat operations in the field as per the requirements of the recording department.
- Broadcast navigation warnings on marine VHF to all stations to warn of our operations and the requirements of the vessels.
- Serve as the point of contact for third party representatives working in the prospect to ensure that they understand our operations. This would include all platform OIM’s, PFSV captains, etc.
- Participate in departmental audits, checklists, and cross audits.
- Ensure all aspects of Geokinetics' and client's HSE requirements are being adhered to.
- Ensure all Sim-ops operational requirements are met.

Education & Experience:

- A degree or diploma in management or bachelors
-  Formal marine qualifications.
- 2 years of seismic experience with OBC/OBN operations in marine seismic
- 2 years of offshore experience
- HSE qualifications a plus (NEBOSH)
- Radio Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, and Outlook.

- Good Radio communication (verbal)
- Good English both verbal and written.

- Oral Comprehension :The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Key Software and Equipment

-      Knowledge of GIS Mapping system
-      Expert with any marine tracking systems
-      VHF/LHF Radios expert user
-      Expert with PLB, EPIRB, AIS MOB devices

QHSE Competencies:

- Competencies for the role are referenced in the Integrated QHSE Management System Training Frame Guidelines. For this role, the competencies that are required include Level #.
- Must abide by and enforce all Geokinetics Policies including but not limited to HSE, Drug & Alcohol, Operational Policies, IAGC, OGP, Client, Local & State Governmental Policies.
- Know and implement the policies of GEOKINETICS on quality, production, safety, protection to environment and costs and verify its fulfillment.
- HUET/BOSIET (offshore survival courses), formal marine qualifications, STCW 95, BOSIET.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions & Hazards:

- Stand, walk and sit
- Use of hands to grasp, handle and lift.
- Seismic work is highly risky. Working environment may be in normal office conditions or open areas exposed to weather. Seismic work is conducted in a variety of environments, including swamps, snow, steep mountains, jungles, and deserts. It employs explosives, boats, helicopters, and other vehicles. The QHSE manager ensures and reviews that each crew and project has the specific hazard register for the work conducted. Use PPE accordingly.
