Position Summary:

To facilitate communication and coordination with local communities and authorities.
Positions reporting to this position: Permit men and crews associated to the permitting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate full commitments to QHSE, lead by example, abide and Enforce policies and carry out all activities required for the successful implementation of the QHSE Management System
- Assist the Project Manager in the initial contacts with the local authorities (mayors, secretaries, presidents of communities, associations) and all ministers and public offices (police, immigration…), involved and related to the scope of work. Update all those contacts on all the on-going project activities Geokinetics carries out in the zone.
- Assist the Project Manager in the initial contacts with the local authorities related to the contingency plans. (Fire station, Hospitals, Civilian authorities, etc.).
- Negotiate the access to land owners.
- Negotiate personally on behalf of Geokinetics and its Client the damages. Do not delegate this function to the assistants.
- Visit the communities and maintain constant communication with them. Facilitate good relations and guarantee the permanence of the company in the area.
- Coordinate the daily agenda of activities according to the schedule determined at the beginning of the project
- Control the budget and adhere to it, respecting agreements with the client
- Generate the final permitting and social action report at the end of the projects.            
- Cooperate in the activities of environmental education to all the personnel
- Prepare invitation letters as necessary for entry of foreign specialists.
- Coordinate and supervise the restoration of land in order to guarantee that it will satisfy the landowners
- Obtain the “Clear and Paid” from the owners
- Keep the Project Manager and Client updated of any irregularities
- Supervise, monitor and liaise with the third party crew manager and vessel operations

Education & Experience:

- Requires university degree 
- Requires 5 years’ progressive work experience in Permitting and Social Action
- Experienced in the seismic industry, 2D, 3D, Land, TZ & OBN operations.
- Overseas experience a plus.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

- Competencies for the role are referenced in the Integrated QHSE Management System Training Frame Guidelines. For this role, the competencies that are required include Level B for all staff.

Key Software to master :

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good understanding of mapping system - QGIS system

QHSE Competencies:

- Competencies for the role are referenced in the Integrated QHSE Management System Training Frame Guidelines. For this role, the competencies that are required include Level B.
- Must abide by and enforce all Geokinetics Policies including but not limited to HSE, Drug & Alcohol, Operational Policies, IAGC, OGP, Client, Local & State Governmental Policies.
- Know and implement the policies of GEOKINETICS on quality, production, safety, protection to environment and costs and verify its fulfillment.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions & Hazards:

- Satisfactorily complete the medical examination (UKOA or similar)
- Stand, walk and sit
- Use of hands to grasp, handle and lift.
- Seismic work is highly risky. Working environment may be in normal office conditions or open areas exposed to weather. Seismic work is conducted in a variety of environments, including swamps, snow, steep mountains, jungles, and deserts. It employs explosives, boats, helicopters and other vehicles.
- The QHSE manager reviews that each crew and project has the specific hazard register for the work conducted. Use PPE accordingly.
- Outdoor conditions on open sea (weather, sea conditions, high winds)
- Exposure to hazards such as high pressure air, loud noise, fumes, suspended load, pinch points.
