Commercial Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University / College Degree / Diploma in Economics with at least 3 years’ experience in commercial activity.
• Ability to work with contracts and other commercial documents.
• Skills in cost-building, budgeting, preparation of commercial proposals, bids.
• Professional communications skills, both verbal and written, are absolutely critical
• Organization and planning skills, ability to work on many tasks for many different clients simultaneously.
• Understanding specifics of work and objectives of the company and general contractors and subcontracting organizations.
• Advanced PC user: knowledge of such programs as MS Office, Adobe PDF editor, experience of work with Procurement and/or Contract Management software (incl. web-based).
• Perfect negotiations skills.
• Fluent in English, Azerbaijani and Russian.
• Teamwork, pro-activity, quality focused, detail oriented, high level of accuracy, diligence, and self-motivation

Secondary (additional) requirements:

• Knowledge of Azerbaijani and international legislation.
• Experience of work in marine industry and/or in logistics activity.
• Experience of work with major oil and gas companies operating in Azerbaijan (BP, Saipem, Total, Lukoil, SOCAR and etc.).
• Skills in contract administration: preparation of drafts, amendments to contracts, variation orders, contract reviews. 
• Experience of work in sales/marketing
• Knowledge in ISO and/or OHSAS standards and requirements

Job responsibilities:

Developing relationships with existing and prospective customers;
Prepare financial assessments to measure revenue from contract proposals to support the contract negotiation process and contract's internal sign-off;
Provision of operational support and advice to management and staff in relation to chartering and contract management;
Preparation of service agreements, charter party contracts;
Communication with line manager to ensure alignment of objectives and to build a clear understanding of business requirements for third party goods and services;
Provision of support to Commercial manager, contributing to the development of strategies, plans and priorities, and identifying opportunities to leverage value or mitigate risk from changes in markets;
Commercial negotiations, risk mitigation and contract execution, ensuring the appropriate business involvement at all stages of the process;
Negotiation of contractual terms and conditions, involving legal when required, employing best practice in contracting methods to manage risk and maximize value;
Identifies opportunities and realizes value through effective use of strategic cost management tools;
Due diligence in mitigating all risks in contract execution.
Preparation of internal and external commercial updates as may be required.
