Vacancy:  Welding Inspector

Project Description:

SAIPEM-AZFEN JV is construction, engineering and procurement Company engaged in construction of major gas pipeline in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

SAIPEM-AZFEN JV is looking for the candidates who have skills and experience to deliver the following responsibilities during the pipeline construction for the following positions:

Required experience and qualification:

• Bachelor Degree, preferably in Quality Sciences
• Excellent spoken & written in English mandatory
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the pipeline, oil and gas industry
• 3.1 CSWIP welding certificate
• Computer skills that includes MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access)
• Strong communication and team work skills

Main roles and responsibilities:

• Checking the qualification of weld procedures and welders;
• Checking the availability and adequacy of filler materials and equipment for weld execution and control;
• Checking that welding material and equipment are correctly received, stored, preserved and handled;
• Checking that weld filler materials are correctly identified and traceable;
• Implementing the notification process for inspections and non-destructive tests;
• Implementing the inspection, control and test notification process;
• Checking, insofar as within remit, the “test packages” for pipe system inspections;
• Monitoring welding works, also checking the precautions taken by the welder to preserve the filler material and operate in adverse atmospheric conditions;
• Checking heat treatment record diagrams;
• Ensuring the assessment of non-destructive controls and the orderly collection and management of the relevant documentation;
• Ensuring that inspections and controls are carried out in accordance with the Quality Control Plan and with applicable specifications and codes, and obtaining the relevant documentation;
• Checking the extent of the repairs made by the various welders, taking any corrective actions where necessary;
• Ensuring that weld non-destructive controls are complete and up to date, for the purpose of approvals of mechanically completed plant systems;
• Checking the documents certifying the controls and inspections carried out and ensuring their orderly collection and management;
• Helping with the systematic collection of lessons learned on the individual site;
• Ensuring the preparation of the welding dossier for final handover to the Company;
• Providing specialist support to the QCM in relations with the Company and the responsible Associated Project Authorities.
