Role synopsis

Due to significant growth in the region, PD&MS Group are looking for Projects Delivery Manager to lead the team based in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Candidates should have previous experience in the oil and gas industry and have a proven background in design engineering from an appropriate related discipline.  Additionally, experience of drilling facilities and equipment is essential.
The Projects Delivery Manager will be responsible for all direct hire project personnel, project related third party engineering suppliers and general / specialist vendors and will be responsible for the overall successful delivery of projects to the client.

Key Responsibilities

• General project management tasks at company premises, client premises, third party sites and yards pursuant to the project being managed as follows: -
• Ensuring Appraise, Select, Define, Onshore and Offshore Execute and Close-out Phases, or parts thereof, of all projects are driven and delivered safely in line with, or ahead of BP (Caspian) expectations.
• Ensuring all BP (Caspian) projects are effectively completed strictly in accordance with the requirements of the BP (Caspian) contract as a minimum, and that adequate resources both in Baku and Aberdeen are in place to meet those requirements.
• Understanding and positively reacting to Client needs in an expedient and proactive manner.
• Responsible for managing all Client and Vendor interfaces to ensure seamless project execution is achieved.
• Providing direction and support to project personnel to achieve or exceed targets and KPl's
• Establishing and setting clear goals and priorities for all BP (Caspian) projects
• Proactive identification of potential issues / conflicts and timely resolution of same
• Convene and chair periodic project meetings and project reviews with clear and concise actions agreed and executed
• Ensuring accurate and timely reporting and planning
• Operational input to Senior Management Review meetings
• Input to, operational personnel recruitment, training and resource allocation, ensuring the right people are in the right positions
• Periodic review of company procedures and policies and development and improvement of same to meet BP (Caspian) expectations and ensuring integration where required.
• Preserving the reputation and interests of PD&MS and BP (Caspian) at all times
• Ensuring adherence to the formal contract in place.
• Overseeing and buy in to the preparation of all project cost estimates and approval of same
• Ensuring own and project / client personnel compliance with Company and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies, as applicable and at all times
• Ensuring robust commercial change control mechanisms / procedures are in place and are being adhered to diligently
• Establish and implement project meetings whether internally or externally at Client premises and ensure their frequency and repetition
• Establishing a good working relationship and rapport with Company and Client project team members alike to ensure project harmony
• Overseeing and approval of all project budgets expenditure and revenues and for monitoring of same at a meaningful frequency
• Ensuring project related Company sales are maximised and up to date with all potential delays mitigated

Essential qualifications and experience

• BSc In Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent preferred
• An HND Certificate, Coupled with 5 Years hands on Experience in Design / Construction or Maintenance Engineering
• 10 Years’ Experience in the Related Supervisory or Managerial Role
• Previous significant drilling facilities experience
• Reasonable Understanding of all Disciplines Likely to be Encountered as Project Manager
• Proven Dexterity in the use of Auto CAD or a similar Draughting Package (Not Essential)
• Reasonable Understanding and Knowledge if Multi-Discipline Design Development, Detailed Design and Design Verification
• Reasonable Knowledge of familiarisation with Oil & Gas Industry Standards and Codes
• Reasonable Exposure to Onshore / Offshore Oil & Gas Industry Construction Activities Through to Close-out
• Reasonable Dexterity in the use of Standard Software Packages, such as Microsoft Office
