The Sosial Fund for Development of İDPS (SFDİ) of the Republic of Azerbaijan,an implementing agency for “İDPs Living Standards and Livelihoods Project” financed by the İnternational Bank for reconstruction and Development and the Government of Azerbaijan,announces the following vacancy:
Environmental Protection Specialist
Requirements and Qualifications:
1) Education
• University degree in Environment; civil engineering; Geology/Hydrology Sciences or equivalent; with adequate orientation towards rural development and/or agriculture;
2) Experience and Knowledge
• Min. 3 years experience in development of sustainable environmental and community infrastructure projects;
• Min. 3 years experience in environmental aspects of demand-driven community development projects;
• Experience in preparation of Environmental Assessments / Management Plans and environmental training programs for governmental organizations, NGOs and local communities for different types of the project,
• Strong experience in environmental problems prioritization, tools and methodology development, project management at local and regional experience
• Exposure to Development work with international organizations required
3) Other necessary skills:
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team;
• Needs to accept to travel frequently within and between the Project zones and to relate closely on micro-project matters with targeted beneficiaries;
• Possessing sound Information Technology (IT) skills, in particular experience with WinWord and Excel programs (MS Office).
• A working knowledge of the English language would be an added advantage.
Consultants will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (January 2011).
