Heavy Equipment Operator’s Certificate

Pay Welding Operator

• Ensure the performance of pay welding machine following Foreman instructions and in accordance with safety and quality standards
• Perform operation and control of pay welding machine in accordance with quality requirements
• Follow daily instructions given by Foreman
• Verify the welding machines are in good and safe operating conditions and report any anomalies to Foreman
• Ensure coordination with the adjacent works to minimize coactivities and avoid unsafe conditions
• Follow the permit-to-work statement
• Ensure the housekeeping of the work location

Automatic welding operator

• Interpret welding process specifications;
• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment;
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment;
• Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines;
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment;
• Prepare jigs or set-ups for welding;
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment

Pipe facing machine operator

• Operates the Pipe Facing Machine to prepare pipes to be welded in the pipeline;
• Mounts work piece between centers, in chuck, manually or using hoist;
• Selects and installs knives and adjusts gears of knife-feeding mechanism according to specified thickness of the pipe to be cut, using hand tools;
• Pulls lever to set PFM machine knife to cut the pipe to specified thickness and to start log rotation and beveling;
• Verifies thickness of pipe with ruler or caliper and adjusts speed of knife-feeding mechanism and turning speed of PFM machine accordingly;
• When is necessary he replaces dull knives and broken or worn parts, using hand tools;
• In charge of the operation and maintenance of bevel machine;
• Assists construction crew in preparing the equipment;
• Maintains the order, cleanliness and housekeeping of his work location;
• Performs any jobs requested the Welding Foreman;
• Inspects the machine on regular basis for malfunction and other defects;
• Works in close relation with the Welding Technician for maintaining and servicing of the bevel machine;

Bending Machine operator

• Should have experience of Bending Machine Operator .
• Functionally control and operation of small/ medium and heavy NC Section bending machines.
• Independently set-up of round section- and pipe bending machines.
• Independently bending of beams, angles, tubes and hollow sections in steel, stainless
