The Audit Manager works as part of an audit team or takes responsibility for running the audit, working directly with the client under partner’s supervision. The Audit Managers control the audit team and supervises the audit process to ensure our audits are of high quality.
Reporting to: Partner
Principal Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management and assess client’s satisfaction
• Select appropriately skilled team to match engagement requirements with individual and team capabilities
• Identify procedures to improve engagement economics, perform necessary procedures more effectively and eliminate low value work
• Proactively monitor and address issues regarding billing and collections
• Communicate ideas/opinions and information to the audit team and listen/respond to other team members views
• Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery
• Generate new business opportunities and proactively identify opportunities to sell firm services which add value to the client and that display an understanding of the client’s competitive situation
• Delegate effectively and monitor progress to ensure expectations are met through initiating discussions with service team and obtaining on-going feedback from client
• Foster effective teamwork and empower staff to allow them to achieve engagement and personal performance objectives
• Conduct timely performance reviews and provide them with counselling and career advice
• Perform appropriate annual client reassessment procedures
• Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment
• Set objectives and communicate effectively
• Be accessible and maximise contribution of staff
• Understand the Firm’s service lines and actively assess/present ways to apply knowledge and services
• Take ownership for the work of the team
• Manage, motivate and provide guidance to staff
• Identify training needs and provide training through arranging and presenting at suitable courses
• Monitor team’s work to ensure it is consistent with the firm’s quality standards and audit approach
• Be conscious of professional liability
• Refer ethical, independence and conflict issues associated with clients and assignments to the Partner
• Ensure team compliance with the Firm’s risk management policies and procedures
• Responsible to the audit engagement partner on all major matters concerning the client audit
• Any other task reasonably assigned to the staff member and within their skill set
Requirements
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, CPA or ACCA)
• Minimum five years of recent experience in External Audit Services
• Working knowledge of IFRS and Financial Reporting requirements
• Fluent in Azerbaijani and English language skills
• Strong analytical, planning and communication skills
• The ability to demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and strong team leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Availability for overtime work and tough deadlines
