JOB TITLE Mechanic
REPORTING TO Workshop Coordinator
Overall Purpose of the Job:
Perform service, repairs, maintenance, retrofits, testing and modifications to all equipment. Ensure all equipment is maintained in accordance with Company Requirements as well as QHS&E guidelines. Ensuring all required documentation records are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Conduct maintenance checks and verify certification of equipment prior to despatch. Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to in all aspects of the job.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform service, repairs, maintenance, retrofits, testing and modifications to all equipment as required
• Perform visual, operational inspection and check completeness of all equipment and tools prior to load out or dispatch
• Undertake other associated tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or management personnel
• Ensuring work areas are maintained in accordance with good housekeeping practices
• Ensure all equipment is maintained in accordance with Company Requirements
• Ensuring all required documentation records are completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Conducting maintenance checks and verifying certification of equipment prior to dispatch
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to in all aspects of the job
• Ensure all QHSE policies and procedures are adhered to in all work processes
• Ensure any incidents, accidents or hazards are reported in accordance with QHSE policy
• Prioritise the health and safety of yourself and others while at work
• Ensure the use of personal protection items to protect the health and safety of yourself and others in the workshop
• Assist in the identification of hazards, the assessment of risks and the implementation of risk control measures
• Ensure you are not under the influence of alcohol or any prohibited drug in the work place
• Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of job function and provide feedback on any matters which may affect QHSE
• Maintain and repair all workshop equipment including forklifts
• This work can be physically demanding. These demands may be defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Ability to climb stairs, perform lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, standing/bending tasks, and endure long hours in possible adverse weather conditions.
Skill Essential to the Job
Technical
• Able to work in remote locations, must be capable of normal movements of all limbs (4), and possess normal hearing and speech abilities.
• Possess electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic aptitude
• Knowledge of tubular running tools and services
• Knowledge of hydraulics equipment and electrical and mechanical components
• Forklift operation (Licensed Operator)
• Conversant with Company Health and Safety Procedures, Company Policy and Procedures, and Environmental Policies.
• A sound understanding of industry related equipment
• Overhead crane operation
• Operation of welding / oxy acetylene equipment
• Rigger and signalmen Certified
