Broadcast Technical Manager

Purpose
 
Be accountable in conjunction with the Host Broadcaster for the development of the technical specifications in which broadcast elements will be delivered in accordance to our contract.   These elements include such items as broadcast lighting, rigging, camera platforms, commentator positions, commentary control rooms et
To represent the Host Broadcaster and Right Holders interests and insure BEGOC’s contractual obligations are met and ensure that all designs are pragmatic and cost effectiv
To lead and provide guidance to the Broadcast Technical Team

Key accountabilities
 
Planning

• Work with the Host Broadcaster and the technical team to defining the technical requirements for broadcast infrastructure & develop the specifications required for procurement or the venue owners to deliver these requirements
• Jointly develop with the Host Broadcaster the venue’s technical requirements including but not limited to lighting, commentator positions, and camera platforms, technical facilities to ensure that all designs are pragmatic and cost effective
• Assess jointly with the Host Broadcaster the coordination of any theatrical lighting planed for in venue entertainment
• Develop in coordination with Technology and the Venue Overlay Managers, reflective ceiling plans identifying all rigging requirements  eliminating conflicts
• Design and develop in a pragmatic and cost effective manner the broadcaster tribunes to the required broadcast, power and technology specifications
• Record, follow up and resolve technical issues between the Host Broadcaster and BEGOC.

Delivery

• Work with the Broadcast Venue Integration Managers to ensure the infrastructure and broadcast facilities are built per design and contractual agreements.
• Provide effective facilitation and resolution to issues and inconsistencies between design and delivery

You may also be required to carry out additional or other duties, or to transfer to another post on either a temporary or permanent basis, to meet the needs of the business.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
 
Experience and Knowledge

• Experience of developing technical specifications and procurement documentation  essential
• Proven project management experience
• Successful track record in managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Successful track record in managing and facilitating problem resolution
• Experience in Broadcast technical
• Experience in the planning and delivery of a major multi-sport event
• Experience in venue development or fit out would be an advantage.
