Role synopsis

Topsides Project Engineer for Management of Preservation & Critical Valve on SD2 Decks.

Key accountabilities 

• Owner of Preservation Schedule
• Management of preservation routines interface with ATA the Construction Contractor
• Owner of critical valve plan from inspection and testing to installation.
• Establish with Fabrication contractor management the best practice in preservation of equipment, piping systems and valves.
• Oversee identification of critical valves, their preservation and testing at ATA yard.
• Manage the interaction on preservation of ATA with PSCM, KBR and BP engineering Manage the contact of ATA wit BP operations, KBR and BP construction on management of critical valves.

Essential Education

Recognised Engineering Degree NB: (HNC / HND may be considered with appropriate experience)

Essential experience and job requirements 

• Demonstrable HSSE Leadership and personal commitment to Safety
• Commitment to BP safety management systems.
• Track record of experience gained in oil and gas / petrochemical / power generation related international projects, in a similar role leading to development of the following skill sets: o Mechanical completion o Long term and short term preservation routines o Commissioning and handover procedures o Site Integrity Management (IM) standards and the application of IM in preservation routines and valve testing o Control of Work processes during execution
• Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and communicate with discipline engineers
• A proven decisive and pro-active team player with good communication skills
• Proven ability to develop procedures , practices and strategies from first principles Previous knowledge and experience of working with the BP SHMP (formerly GOC) or equivalent
• Good at communicating in English language, both verbally and written
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Strong inter-personal skills
• Track record in completing management initiatives on integrity improvement
• Ability to produce written reports and procedures
• Ability to interact with contractor and contractor’s field supervision.
• Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
• Deep understanding of GPO “Build it Clean” and Preservation strategies.

- High motivation and the ability to achieve goals and be a team player.
- The ability to define and prioritize issues and solve problems through networking with other team members or external sources.
- An Innovative eye for identifying opportunities to reduce costs and challenge the status quo.
- The ability to interface effectively with people of all levels, both internal and third parties, with wide ranging cultural backgrounds.

Desirable criteria & qualifications
