Logistic Assistant/Driver

Oxfam GB is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual for the position of Logistic Assistant/Driver at its Baku office. The post holder will be base in Baku office. Applicants are required to complete an attached Oxfam job application form ( 6_Oxfam_GB_application_form.doc ) .

JOB PURPOSE:

The role of the Logistic Assistant/Driver is to provide support  of Oxfam GB's logistics and supply processes and procedures in  Azerbaijan through ways of working and ongoing communication and collaboration with Programme staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Logistic and Supply:

• Ensuring that the supply of goods, logistics services (deliveries, transport, communication) and other related queries are processed with speed and efficiency.
• Ensure that the logistics/supply policies and procedures of Oxfam and donors are followed and appropriately implemented in the country programme
• Promote good working relations and contacts with approved and selected country suppliers. Pro-actively work with  suppliers (this includes support tenders, price and quality, capacity evaluation, regular comparison of invoices vs. purchase orders).
• Liase monthly with finance on supplier's issues (terms and conditions of payments, quality, reconciliation of data between finance system and supply system).
• Assist country team to develop and maintain a database of appropriate suppliers (including equipment and specifications) able to supply Oxfam programmes
• Contribute in monthly Health and Security reports to support HR and Administrative Officer
• To provide written reports of field visits. Act as the central point for information in the logistics cycle for staff and offer timely advice on the best logistics options available.
• To support country management team on updating country security guidelines and evacuation plan
• To ensure that first aid kits and any security or contingency supplies are appropriately placed and managed.

Driving :

• Maintain service records on vehicle and driving records.
• Ensure that proper vehicle management policies are followed.
• Provide driving services to Oxfam staff as per daily schedule
• Travel to the regions when required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

• Extensive Knowledge in Logistics, Procurement, Transport, Vehicle management.
• High school level education or equivalent vocational training
• Current Driver’s License (Category B.C)
• Good knowledge of the territory and road system of the area of work.
• Basic vehicle mechanics skills
• At least five years of driving experience (INGO experience preferred)
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Adaptable, flexible, able to deal with a wide range of conflicting needs and demands.

Remuneration Package

Social benefits will include possibility of participation in the Vanbreda medical insurance scheme and the Oxfam Provident Fund. Gross salary per month is 578 AZN.
