Information about the Young Women’s Peace Academy Project

The Young Women’s Peace Academy (YWPA) is an 18 months’ long project initiated by the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation and the Nobel Women’s Initiative, supported by the Swedish Postcode Lottery. The YWPA offers a unique training program for young women peacebuilders from three different conflict affected regions: Armenia and Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Israel and Palestine.

The peace academy will enhance the participants’ communication, advocacy and leadership skills whereas a mentor scheme will ensure transfer of knowledge and experiences between senior and junior activists. YWPA participants will be encouraged to articulate advocacy messages and address these to national governments and international actors.

An online digital platform will create a linkage to young women activists in Sweden who will be part of an awareness raising campaign about the project in Sweden.
