Job Title  Analyst

Key responsibilities of the role include providing analytical support up to supervisor level within Company’s regional labs overseas alongside providing support to the development of new methodologies. You will prepare analytical reports for customer bases and provide technical guidance.

Candidates must possess a BSc (or equivalent) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry and must be capable of working independently and remote from direct UK/Middle East supervision. Candidates must have a good general analytical chemistry background with emphasis on GCMS. Applications must be able to problem solve analytical methodologies and equipment (Agilent an advantage) and possess a willingness and ability to train and coach regional lab staff. Candidates must also be willing and able to work within countries in the FSU [first of all Russia and Kazakhstan].  Candidates must exhibit a high degree of independence, receiving minimal supervision and a high degree of oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

1. Analysis of chemical and radiochemical environmental samples

2. Provide support to the development of new methodologies

3. Responsible for preparing analytical reports for  customers

4. Provide technical guidance to less experienced members of the team

5. To deputise for the Laboratory Supervisor when required

Requirements to reach effective performance
(general entry level for job or recruitment criteria)

General attainment equivalent to:

• BSC Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry

Job related work experience skills/knowledge requirements:
(describes ideal and preferable experience but not the number of years)

• ICP-MS, GC-MS, Knowledge of working under ISO17025 accreditation.  Environmental radiochemistry an advantage
