Language Services Senior Manager

Key Responsibilities

Support the development of venue operating plans for all competition venues and select non-competition venues
Ensure the consistency of spaces, operations and levels of service across clusters, client groups and functions
Develop and write policies and procedures for Language Services
Recruit, train, lead, mentor and empower a team of 13 local Language Services Specialists
Devise volunteer interpreter/Language Services Assistants deployment strategy and actively participate in selection and training
Liaise with Venue European Games Family Operations to ensure successful operations on venue, integration of processes and proper prioritization of requests
Support European Games Family events prior to the Games (Chefs de Mission Seminar, EOC General Assembly, CoComs, NOC Open Days)
Support Opening and Closing Ceremonies operations in regards to European Games Family Operations
Coach and support local Language Services Specialists at Games-time to ensure successful delivery of their operations
Report daily activities and issues to EFO desk in Games Operations Center (GOC) and provide operational support on venue

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

Operational international multisport event experience
Knowledge and understanding of key Games operational principles –accreditation, logistics, transport, workforce, venues, etc.
Knowledge of Games Family client group
Experience of international relations with European countries
Planning, integration and delivery of complex operations
Management of multiple stakeholders with conflicting priorities
Ability to work across multiple cultures, aligning Games context, local context and European context
Management of large teams with different profiles –paid staff, volunteers, contractors- within an international environment
Proven team-building and mentoring skills in challenging operational environment
Knowledge of European languages
