Title: Quarry Geologist
Reporting Line: Quarry Manager
Position Type: Full Time / Fieldwork
JOB SUMMARY
To ensure implementation of the Quarry Master and QSO, systematically checking the status of the pre-blending pile construction (quality parameters) and the conformity with production requirements.
JOB DUTIES
• Planning, organizing and undertaking field work/site investigations
• Accessing, using and analyzing site information (such as radar images, aerial photographs, reports and geological maps) prior to site investigations
• Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data. Preparing reports
• Prepare or adapt the daily/weekly mining plans using QM, validations with laboratory, production;
• Sampling the blast-holes; samples to lab and collect results from LIMS;
• Up-date the QM model with the new blast(s): samples, bench topography, piles/blasts, etc
• Inform Quarry Manager concerning the blending recipe: loading points and quantities;
• Compliance with Holcim OH&S standards and environmental regulations
REQUIREMENTS
Functional Skills
• Knowledge of blasting and drilling
• Knowledge in geotechnical (slope stability)
• Engineering geologist knowledge
• Exploration methods and basic knowledge in mapping and exploration campaigns
• Basic mining knowledge (crushing, screening etc.)
• Quarry production and crushing operations
• OHS&E and mining legislation

Education & Experience
• University degree in Geology
• At least 1 year experience in similar role
• Fluent Azeri, knowledge of English and Russian is an advantage
• PC Literacy i.e. MS Office, QM, QSO, AutoCad full operational use
