Role synopsis 

The primary role of the Wells Solids Control and Drilling Waste Management Engineer is to support the Region in their management of these services through planning, organisation and support of activities performed by BP and its suppliers. You will be coordinating the Regional direction of these services with the assistance of the Global Wells Organisation (GWO) Engineering Senior Drilling Waste Management Specialist to a Regionally agreed strategy. This will require activity coordination with other Functions in support of the well construction activities. You will be reporting to the Wells Drilling Waste Management Single Point of Accountability (SPA).

Key accountabilities 

• Supports rig surveys for equipment installation and ensures that technical recommendations, plans, cost estimates, risk analysis, schedules are fit for purpose.

• Provides support to the Rig Asset Management Team in the preparation of the statements of requirements (equipment, materials, personnel, services,) for projects

• Prepares technical scopes to support procurement processes

• Coordinates the planning and execution of projects in order to ensure equipment is ready, serviced and maintained fit for purpose and in conformance with BP requirements for certification

• Provides support to the suppliers to coordinate commissioning/ decommissioning and mobilisation of equipment to and from company installations

• Maintains a projects documentation system

Essential Education 

• Min Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering or in related engineering discipline

Essential experience and job requirements 

• Proficient in AutoCad and Microsoft Project

• Working understanding of Oil and Gas industry standards pertaining to equipment in drilling installations (lifting, pressure, ingress protection,)

• Working understanding of Quality, Health. Safety, Environment (QHSE) Management systems

• Computer proficient (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Fluent in English and Azerbaijani language

Other Requirements (eg Travel, Location) N/A

Desirable criteria & qualifications 

• Oilfield services, drilling operations experience is highly desirable, in particular exposure to solids control and waste management systems design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair

• Project management skills and Computer Assisted Drafting/design and similar certifications highly desirable

• Proficient technical report writing skills
