About Excelsior Hotel Shamkir

Presented to the Head of the Republic in 2013, Excelsior Hotel Shamkir-can be considered a groundbreaking project, a symbol of modern face of Western regions. Being a subsidiary of Synergy Group OJSC, hotel complex consists of 53 rooms, including, 41 Standard, 6 Business Suite, 5 Corner Suite and 1 Presidential  Suite. The design of the rooms invokes ancient ornaments of Shamkir carpets. Baku Restaurant presents exclusive dishes of both local and world cuisine. A unique Brau Pub equipped with Austrian technologies produces beer to be offered to the guests at premises, and local and exported wine bottles are kept at the wine house operating within the hotel. Besides, Jasmine SPA and Turkish bath will ensure the most delightful and memorable time of the hotel residents. Last but not least, the conference hall named after Farman Salmanov equipped with latest technological devices gives the hotel complex an opportunity to host local and international events on highest level. The five-storey building of the facility occupies a total area of 9,000 m2.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Engineering department and team during Hotel opening and then;
• Support administrative and management tasks;
• Coordinate with internal and external Work Force;
• Control the Engineering functions;
• Handle all preventive maintenance areas;
• Handle all technical areas;
• Handle all mechanic areas;
• Handle all building & decoration areas;
• Support service & operation parts;
• Support all concern departments;
• To assure implementation of policies, standards and procedures for Water and sewage quality control.
• To be responsible for fire prevention and other life safety programs, effective plant preventive and routine maintenance, operation and control of plant and equipment; for the proper organization and functioning of the energy management;
• To determine optimal operating efficiencies and take necessary corrective measures when variances from standards are excessive through logs and utility data;
• To analyze and monitor energy costs and expenditures for the Department;
• To conduct  engineering departmental Schedule &meetings;
• To establish and maintains effective employee relations;
• To ensure the smooth operation of equipment and machinery;
• To maintain equipment and machinery record system for the property;
• To participate in conducting fire prevention training programs;
• To determine programs for routine plant preventive maintenance and its implementation;
• To ensure Hotels repair and maintenance order system is in accordance with Policy and Procedure;
• To immediate action to the problem in terms of repairs and breakdowns;
• To monitoring and inspecting the works of his team;
• To coordinate with concern departments or sections in courteous and efficient manner;
• To ensure the availability of spare parts and materials at all times;
• To ensure safety and satisfactions of the guests;
To keep hospitality and good relationships with the guest at all time;
To attend guest request and requirements as quick as possible;
• To submit necessary reports required by Hotel Director;
• To perform related duties and special projects as assigned;
• To be responsible for Monthly checklist for Hotel.

Educational and Professional Requirements:

• Diploma in mechanical / Electrical;
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position with in hotel environment;
• Good command of  Azerbaijan &English language;
• Ability to multitask and proactive approach.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

• Fluent in spoken and written English, Russian and Azerbaijan;
• Excellent Computer skills - MS Office;
• Be results oriented, enthusiastic and with strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines, attentiveness to detail;
• Good communication skills;
• Fast learner, team player.
