Role synopsis
As a Translator/Interpreter you will be providing translation and interpretation services to Human Resources and Communication & External Affairs departments.
Key accountabilities
As a Translator/Interpreter you will be responsible for translation from Azerbaijani into English and vice versa, simultaneous/consecutive interpreting during meetings/conference calls/negotiations from Azerbaijani into English, simultaneous/consecutive interpreting during meetings/conference calls/negotiations from English into Azerbaijani, proofreading of written materials, editing and revising of written materials as well as formatting of documents.
Essential Education
• Bachelor’s degree in English or in Humanitarian & Social Sciences
Essential experience and job requirements
• At least 3 years of continuous translation/interpretation experience for or in a western corporate environment (especially oil and gas company)
• Native speaker of Azerbaijani language
• Translation/ interpretation expertise in at least two relevant oil and gas subject-matters or disciplines including, but not limited to, geology, drilling, engineering, environment, safety, finance and legal
• Ability to work competently as translator/ interpreter in almost any other subject-matter important in the oil and gas sector
• Demonstrated ability to produce publishable quality translation in both Azerbaijani and English
• Comfortable working with IT, including knowledge of all the relevant software such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and translation software

• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
• Availability to work long hours
• Good priority management
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Experience of working overseas in an English speaking environment is an asset
• Strong Foster effective teamwork & collaboration
• Self-motivated and delivery oriented
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical (preferably oil and gas) related discipline from a foreign university or a local university where the language of instruction is English
