Job duties:

  • Conduct regular site safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform Permit to Work (PTW) inspections and support in task risk assessments and permit to work preparation.
  • Deliver HSE awareness and induction training to staff.
  • Inspect equipment, vehicles, and emergency equipment to ensure they meet safety requirements.
  • Provide oversight of site activities, promoting adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct initial investigations for any incidents, aiming to prevent future occurrences.
  • Promote a positive safety culture within the workplace.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders on safety matters, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
  • Report on HSE activities, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Support emergency response and incident management efforts.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with established inspection targets and schedules.
  • Strictly accountable for conducting thorough inspections and reporting all unsafe conditions and non-compliances accurately.
  • Accountable for the prompt reporting of any incidents or major unsafe conditions to HSE Director.
  • Strictly accountable for exemplifying best practices in health, safety, and environmental standards in personal conduct, thereby setting a high benchmark and reinforcing a culture of safety within the organization.

Requirements:

Functional:

  • Strong knowledge of national and international HSE regulations, particularly in Confined Space Entry, Isolations, Lifting, Working at Height, Hot Work, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to solve problems effectively and creatively.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), or Environmental Science.
  • Preferably, HSE Qualification such as NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE or relevant field
  • Preferably, 5 years of experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries
  • Fluent in Azerbaijan and English, (Russian – desirable)
