GE Corporate Finance is looking for Junior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare AP, AR, Bank and other ledgers as required by the company
• Support with ad-hoc projects and other Management Controllership tasks as necessary.
• Assist to accounting team to perform month end close to ensure submission to corporate deadlines where applicable.
• Assist with general accounting activities for allocated entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel expenses, banking processes
• Assist with accounting of tax calculations in compliance with local statutory requirements
• Ensure monthly balance sheet reclassifications are performed to corporate criteria where applicable.
• Understand key models and month end tasks, proactively seeking to improve and simplify where necessary.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers
• Ensure all assigned reconciliations are prepared and reviewed accurately and submitted in line with corporate criteria.
• Interact and respond to auditor queries, internal and external as necessary.
• Assist in quarterly balance sheet review and prepare variance analysis as necessary.
• Support controllership data requests, and auditing processes
• Assistance in preparation and submission of VAT and tax returns on supported ledgers
• Participate in financial/tax related projects and initiatives of the company
• Assist accounting team in completion of accounting/finance tasks
• Perform other requirements of the company in respect to finance/accounting work

Qualifications/Requirements

• Finance/Accounting degree or equivalent
• Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant.
• Min. 2 year experience in accounting or CIMA/ACCA qualification in the first papers
• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Strong system skills (MS Office including Excel, Oracle, specific system(s) desirable)
• Proactive, ability to operate effectively with minimal guidance.
• Ability to challenge processes and implement improved working methods.
• Be ready to work and assist with any kind of accounting information
• Be ready to relocation between the company offices when necessary
