Role & Responsibilities:
Petrophysicist’s duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Carry out necessary petrophysical work to enable the team to meet the focus. As progress is made towards delivering the production plateau, team focus will gradually shift towards maintaining/extending/increasing plateau and maximizing economic recovery.
- Work with other team members to plan and execute appropriate data gathering during drilling and testing campaign.
- Provide necessary scope of work and ensure optimum processing and interpretation with relevant external contractor’s QC of logging programs including cement bond logs.
- Provide high quality petrophysical analysis in a timely fashion during the drilling campaign using wireline logs and all other appropriate data.
- Prepare and supervise routine and special core analysis programs, including technical input to any tendering and contracting process in conjunction with other team members.
- Be conversant with geomechanics studies and work with other team members as necessary to utilize existing geomechanics data into wellbore stability studies.
- Provide support to other disciplines in the building of static and dynamic reservoir models (PETREL/ECLIPSE) through the integration of all petrophysical data in close cooperation with the geologist and reservoir engineer.
- Complies with all the Company’s Safety and Environmental policies, practices and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations. Escalates as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in TECHLOG software is recommended
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Petrophysicist in oil and gas development and production
- Bachelor's and Master’s Degree in Geosciences or related disciplines
- Experience in log and core analysis is required
- Familiarity with wireline and LWD (Logging While Drilling) data acquisition and interpretation
- Working knowledge and experience in the South Caspian Basin
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent written and spoken English language skills are highly advantageous
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to wellsite locations upon request for field assignments
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with Contractors, Suppliers, co‐ workers, outside agencies, business partners
- Ability to perform effectively in a team environment demonstrating; collaborative, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, respectful, and tactful personal characteristics
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
- Experience of working on site is beneficial
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Strong decision-making and problem solving skills
