Requirements:
- Culinary Certificate
- Culinary or professional cookery trainings and/or certified courses.
- Able to work within a team environment and to communicate effectively with all members of a team.
- Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays (essential).
- 5+ years' of culinary or kitchen experience
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
Job Duties:
- To prepare a consistent, high quality food product and ensure courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service that supports the outlet’s operating concept and Hyatt standards.
- To conduct pre-shift briefings and regular communications meetings, ensuring that they are effective and conducted as necessary.
- To follow standard recipes and minimize waste to help ensure that the outlet’s food cost is in line with budget.
- Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times.
- To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
- Evaluate food products to ensure consistent quality standards
- Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff
- To ensure that the outlet food cost is managed in line with maximising profit while delivering on the brand promise.
- Oversee and assist the kitchen staff in all aspects of food production
