Requirements:

  • Culinary Certificate 
  • Culinary or professional cookery trainings and/or certified courses.
  • Able to work within a team environment and to communicate effectively with all members of a team.
  • Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays (essential).
  • 5+ years' of culinary or kitchen experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail

Job Duties:

  • To prepare a consistent, high quality food product and ensure courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service that supports the outlet’s operating concept and Hyatt standards.
  • To conduct pre-shift briefings and regular communications meetings, ensuring that they are effective and conducted as necessary.
  • To follow standard recipes and minimize waste to help ensure that the outlet’s food cost is in line with budget.
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
  • Evaluate food products to ensure consistent quality standards
  • Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff
  • To ensure that the outlet food cost is managed in line with maximising profit while delivering on the brand promise.
  • Oversee and assist the kitchen staff in all aspects of food production
