OFFSHORE VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
JOB TITLE: DRILLER
LOCATION: AZERBAIJAN
JOB TYPE: 28/28 or 14/14

KCA DEUTAG is one of the largest international drilling operation contractors in the Caspian region, having  a history of over 100 years of drilling and engineering activities across the globe, and undertakes projects in some of the most harsh and demanding environments in the world. The Driller is responsible to the Tool Pusher for the day to day operation on the installation and for the health and safety of their crew and any others working under their authority.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (but not be limited to):

• Supervise all operations taking place on the drill floor and in areas under their control, ensuring that such operations are carried out efficiently and in compliance with authorised Operation Procedures and Group Safety Policy.
• Observe and monitor well conditions through drilling parameters.  In the event of down hole problems, take appropriate action.
• Provide advice and guidance to personnel under their authority on all operational matters as required and to supervise specific employees until sufficiently experienced.
• Ensure that health and safety at work and accident prevention are continuously brought to the attention of employees under their authority by means of job supervision, instruction and training.
• Supply information for drilling report i.e. mud figures and chemicals used.
• Pressure test well control equipment at appropriate stages during drilling to Client standards.  Record and store test results.
• Evaluate all work to be carried out to the requirements of the Permit-to-Work system, initiate Permits-to-Work as necessary and ensure that all safety precautions are taken and work is only carried out as stated in the PTW.
• Moving of the drilling rig after completion of the drilling program, including making up and running drill pipe tripping.
• Ensure that the Group Safety Policy is fully implemented and adhered to by all persons under their authority.
• Active involvement in the implementation of HSE requirements in crew his shift.
• Responsibility for HSE/QA measures in regards to the personnel assigned to him, including Service personnel as stated in the Drilling Program.
• Maintenance of Drill Floor Equipment.
• Prepare & conduct Toolbox Talks
• Stand in for alternative work discipline as required.

Educational and Experience Requirements

An Associate’s degree in and/or a minimum of three years offshore experienceor equivalent combination of education and experience is required
      

Other Special Requirements      

                                                           
• Petroleum engineering or a closely related major
• Strong mathematical and scientific knowledge
• Knowledge of all technical calculations required for the safe operation of the drilling unit and control of the well
• Excellent command of Azerbaijan, English and Russian languages and written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of geographical/scientific analysis
• Demonstrated leadership and organization skills
• Training and Certification requirements for the Driller position
• Current well control certificate (IWCF)
• Ability to work in a high performing work environment
