The International School of Azerbaijan (TISA) has a vacancy for a Secondary School Library Resources Officer from May 2013. Interested candidates can send their CVs to [email protected] by 15 April 2013. Please note that Azerbaijani citizenship is required for this position.

The Secondary Library Resources Officer is responsible to the Secondary School Principal via the Library Resources Coordinator.
 
In particular, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks:

•         Manage circulation of library materials for students and staff using the Follett Destiny online catalogue and online database resources
•         Create resource lists to support student and teacher research needs
•         Manage user data
•         Manage overdue notices and reports
•         Refer users with damaged or lost items to the Accounts Department for payment
•         Prepare the circulation desk for services on a daily basis with needed supplies
•         Be responsible for shelving, straightening and shelf-reading of library materials
•         Select library materials required for the International Baccalaureate curriculum
•         Process new library materials received for circulation
•         Process periodicals received for circulation
•         Prepare reports for lost or damaged materials
•         Answer user queries
•         Train volunteers in circulation procedures
•         Manage cataloging using Alliance Plus System and basic cataloging (US/UK school age literature)
•         Be responsible for Textbook Manager and assist teachers with the circulation of textbooks
•         Catalogue new classroom resources and weed items as required
•         Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Library

Resources Coordinator and Principal 

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Library Resources or a related field, will have experience of working in Library Resources, will speak English and Azerbaijani fluently and will have good computer skills.
