Head of Strategic Planning Unit

Accountabilities

• Acquire right staff in line with unit`s functional goals, manage, train and develop the staff in order to have a competent team capable of problem solving, being proactive and working with team spirit in a motivated manner. 
• Make all necessary researches and undertake all needed actions to improve Strategic Planning Processes and Strategic Planning Unit Function.

• Building and/or improving the information and capability infrastructure and take necessary measures for a seamless support of overall corporate strategy and strategic decision making of top management based on the set company vision and targets.

• Preparing the high level company strategic plan template. Consolidate the strategic plan according to top management annual strategic review and objective setting meetings to assure the alignment of all business units strategic objectives linked to specific major company goals.

• Building up and/or improving the strategy process and procedures

• Establish/Revise or Improve tools/methodologies/databases to support strategic planning and decision making processes such as Market and Competitor Intelligence and Reporting System, company performance & business results tracking and analysis system, benchmarking and trends tracking system etc.

• Improve analytics and data management system and procedures for a number of strategic planning &   analysis requirements regarding overall key strategic areas and/or specific strategic areas like product performances, new product & technology launches, campaign effectiveness, product life cycle management etc.

• Coordinate/Execute market forecasts (customers, revenues, usage etc.) on mid and long term basis for company budgeting, strategic plans or specific new product, service or technology launches.

• Coordinate/Prepare Business Cases & Plans for all new product, service or technologies planned.

• Prepare Business case for improvements & changes in any existing key products, services , offerings and/or any business model changes regarding the value chain. (Any new partnerships, any changes in business model with partners etc.)

• Conduct / Coordinate situational ad-hoc analysis and reporting regarding the campaign, product, services performances, new launches, product portfolio decisions, marketing KPIs and other Commercial Area related issues.

• Track and report the strategic fit of all actions, plans, and launches executed by other commercial departments to support head of department to assure all company units are in line with strategies and objectives set by top management.

• Track and report business results performances versus linked actions defined in the strategic initiatives document to assure that the business units perform in the right direction and effectively towards company goals

Education Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration or Engineering
Experience  Minimum 5 years’ experience in Telecoms Industry
Minimum 5 years working in business analysis, financial analysis and building business cases
Languages Azeri, Russian and English
Computer skills Perfect computer knowledge of MS Office (Mainly Excel and PowerPoint)
