Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Act as the regional Wells SPA for all Upstream Control of Work issues.
  • Interface with the Central GWO Control of Work team.
  • Interface with the regional GOO /SOR Control of Work teams.
  • Drive all CoW related concerns /issues raised by Wells Operations to successful resolution in coordination with GOO/SOR and GWO Control of Work focal point.
  • Provide day-today Control of Work support to the AGT Wells operations.
  • Conduct evaluations and provide feedback, which will include opportunities for quality improvement in revisions and in development of future documents, to the KCA Deutag Area Authorities on Permits, Task Risk Assessments (TRA), Isolation - De-isolation Plans (IDP) and Risk Assessed Procedures (RAP).
  • Conduct offshore audits of the Upstream Control of Work process to ensure compliance.
  • Coach and assess Drilling Contractors’ and Service Providers’ Performing Authorities including hands on training with the Control of Work system, e.g. preparation of dummy permits).
  • Interface with the third-party contractors onshore in preparing their Performing Authorities prior to deployment and enforcing use of the Performing Authority Readiness Checklist.
  • Conduct formal Competency Assessments of Area Authorities and Performing Authorities as required by the Upstream Control of Work procedure.
  • Provide coaching and support to Area Authorities where required.
  • Maintain AGT Wells Control of Work Authorisation Register.
  • Ensure regular updating of Risk Assessed Procedures (RAPs) working in cooperation with Wells Ops technical specialists.
  • Provide support to or participate in Control of Work-related incident investigations.
  • Perform trend analysis of Control of Work-related data from eWells and LFIs.
  • Provide Control of Work input into the regional SORC meetings.
  • Develop platform specific sustainable Control of Work Champions.
  • Support the development of TRA Facilitators to ensure effective Level 2 TRAs are created.
  • May be required to cover the role of the KCA Deutag Area Authority on a temporary basis.
  • May be required to carry out other duties not specifically mentioned above
  • Ensure compliance with the Upstream Control of Work procedure.
  • Carry out competence assessment KCA Deutag Area Authorities and Performing Authorities as well as third Party Service Company Performing Authorities.
  • Become competent in their discipline.
  • Report, as and when appropriate, performance issues including; high standards of work and / or sub- standard performance.

Key Skills/Qualifications:

  • The individual should have experience as either an Offshore Area Authority in the Upstream Control of Work process or have extensive knowledge of the Upstream Control of Work process through a coaching/ implementation role for Upstream Control of Work process.
  • The individual should have satisfactorily completed all the training requirements for an Area Authority required by the Upstream Control of Work process.
  • Demonstrate Safety leadership through:
  1. Completing and recording both Task and Area audits.

  2. Participation in safety observation process at a supervisory level.
